Read above (click on the Skip link) then read below… Remember context…

Ok, I don’t often use Skip’s titles when I blog, just tend to use one that hits me.  This one I have to agree with.  This One Is Not For You…

After you read the above links then you can decide if it applies to you, you can probably make that determination from the first one.  Yet this one is for me.  I have listened a bit lately to people that love to quote scripture and use it for their purposes.  Let me explain…

Let’s take Psalm 119:105, there is a pretty good chance that you have embraced that verse.  Yet, we have a problem, it would not do justice to the verse by taking it out of context.  David is speaking, about a specific thing.  You can misquote David all you choose but David’s context is clear, Torah is that Word.

So to be genuine to the author and the text, this might not be for you.  You cannot reverse apply scripture or add to, that is a clear warning.  What existed is what was declared.  If “This One Is Not For You”, just move on.  But as for me, Torah will light my path, and definitely lay bare my mis-steps.  The best part is, as promised, it will always guide me back.  But like we discussed in a previous blog, you cannot go back to where you have not been or what you do not know.  So I have to get to know Torah so it will keep me safe.
