It all about me…

The Context of Humility
by Skip Moen, D. Phil.

Read above (click on the Skip link) then read below… Remember context…

For a moment can we just get over ourselves?  Could we also acknowledge that something might not be about themselves?  Talk about reading things afresh, a new obvious.  Putting yourself in the place of another, speaking as if you are.  God, take me please instead of them.  We have a few of those that YHVH called “righteous” who were of that mindset.

David is Hebrew, his world is Hebrew, his God is the YHVH of Israel.  So, he might be speaking as a Hebrew, in cultural context.  It’s not always about us…

The more one delves into seeking and searching, the more one can tend to find if you can let go of the “me”.  What I think it says, mainly because I was told that.  Yes, it does come at a price, you have to admit that maybe you were not told correctly, not intentionally for sure, yet still true.  That does open up the box of what else…

Shalom/Chairete,

Bob
